J-1 Work & Travel
The Summer Work and Travel program in the United States provides
paid working holiday opportunities for you to work during your summer
vacation as well as travel and experience daily life in the U.S. We intend
that your work & travel (working holiday) opportunities in the U.S.
will contribute to your lifelong personal and professional growth. You
will also learn about U.S.A. culture and specifically the values in American
business practices. The friendships formed will not only last a lifetime
but also assist you in your career development upon returning home. The
Summer Work/Travel program can last 1 to 4 months. Extensions are
not permitted.
The jobs that will be available are almost always Waitstaff positions
and our client clubs require a high level of English Language proficiency
as well as previous work experience in the food & beverage/hospitality
industry or related university coursework.

Full-time college or university students in their home countries may
participate in the Summer Work/Travel program only during their summer
vacation. It is inappropriate for students to participate in this program
during time periods other than their summer vacations. You must be at
least 18 years old to participate in this program.
J-1 Training Program duration up to 12-months
CCA's Minimum requirements for Training Program applicants are:Minimum
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Applicants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language
to communicate and perform training activities as designated in the
training program as well as in social situations
- Applicants must have sufficient scholastic preparation to participate
in the designated program
- Applicants must have demonstrated a career focus through educational
achievement and/or progressive professional experience in the designated
field of training
- Applicants must be in good health to perform all training activities
as outlined in their designated program
- Applicants must have sufficient funds to cover their expenses.
- Applicants must be outside the United States for a minimum of 90 days
prior to the desired start date
- Applicants must apply for their visa through a US Consulate outside
of the United States(preferably in their home country)
H2B-Visa (seasonal Non-Agricultural Workers):
The H-2B nonimmigrant visa program permits employers to hire foreign
workers to come to the U.S. and perform temporary nonagricultural work,
which may be one-time, seasonal, peak load or intermittent.
There is a 66,000 per year limit on the number of foreign workers who
may receive H-2B status during each USCIS fiscal year (October through
September). The process for obtaining H-2B certification is similar to,
but less extensive and time consuming, than permanent certification.

Requirements for the H-2B Visa
Criteria for Determining Employers Eligibility
- The employer must satisfy the following conditions to import foreign
workers under the H-2B visa:
- The job and the employers need must be one time, seasonal, peak
load or intermittent
- The job must be for less than one year
- There must be no qualified and willing U.S. workers available for
the job
Criteria for Determining Employees Eligibility
- You are eligible for the H-2B Visa provided:
- You have a valid job offer from a US employer to perform temporary
or seasonal non-agricultural work
- You intend to return to your home country on expiration of the visa
H1 Career Visa
Requirements for the H-1B Visa
- Criteria for Determining Employers Eligibility
- To be eligible for sponsoring an H-1B visa, the employer must
prove that:
- The position offered requires knowledge, both theoretical and applied,
which is almost exclusively obtained through studies at an institution
of higher learning
- The position requires a specific course of study which relates directly
to the position
- Attainment of a bachelors or higher degree in the specific activity
(or its equivalent) is a minimum requirement for the position
Criteria for Determining Employees Eligibility
To be eligible for an H-1B visa, you must demonstrate that you have:
- Full state licensure to practice in the occupation, if such licensure
is required to practice in the occupation
- Completed the degree required for the occupation or possess experience
in the specialty equivalent to the completion of such degree
- Recognition of expertise in the specialty through progressively responsible
positions relating to the specialty
Positions Generally Considered Professional: Accountant, Acupuncturist,
Chiropractor, Computer Programmer, Dietitian, Electronics Specialist, Fashion
Designer, General Manager (where business is complex), Graphic Designer,
Hotel Management, Industrial Designer (with B.A.), Interior Designer (commercial),
Journalist, Librarian, Medical Records Librarian, Medical Technologist,
Minister, Orthopedist, Pharmacist, Social Worker, Technical Publications
Writer and Vocational Counselor.
Applying for the H-1B Visa
- You cannot apply for an H-1B visa as an individual. A U.S. employer
has to sponsor your H-1B visa. To sponsor you, the employer must:
- File a Labor Condition Application (LCA) with the U.S. Department
of Labor
- File USCIS Form I-129, Petition for nonimmigrant worker with H supplement
and supporting documentation and the approved LCA with the USCIS
- If you are overseas, you must take the H-1B approval notice to the
American Consulate to obtain the H-1B visa.
- If you are already in the U.S., you can start working for your employer
as soon as you receive the H-1B approval notice.
Note: If you are currently on H-1B status, then you can start
working upon filing of the new petition.
